Spodman
Wed, Dec 05 07 @ 05:39 PM Eastern Standard Time

Spodman (Mark Spedding) visited. We ordered in a couple wood-fired pizzas. Our grateful guest brought a bottle of wine, a six pack, and even a couple bottles of his home-brewed beer (SpodGrog). I'll have to host visitors like this more often!
Spod is hopefully going to be the first of many visitors. To commemorate the occasion, I've asked him to sign a completed part. Future visitors beware...

He claims he normally attaches this picture and the following quote:
"Warning: This product can give you breath that can knock a seagull off a shit truck at 100M." Actually the beer was quite good.

Spod and I laid up the fiberglass hardpoints for the Landing Gear Bulkheads. It took several hours, but the final pieces are quite impressive when finished.

Raiki
Mon, Dec 10 07 @ 07:12 PM Eastern Standard Time

Adrian Smart (Raiki) from the Canard Zone stop by for a visit. He was in town on business. We had such a good time plane talking that we didn't get any work done. hmm. I'm going to have to be careful with that! We had planed to slap some epoxy, but I was completely ready for the layup and I didn't was to rush it. I still needed to Alodine the firewall inserts and had not done that before. So we must have talked for four hours. What a blast. He says he in Melbourne ever so often. I'll get him covered in epoxy before you know it!

Adrian is a pilot and would really like to build. From my understanding my parts were the first he's ever seen. What an honor. The highlight of the night was when he was about to leave I remember the confidence piece. He was amazed that he could place all his weight on it and it just slightly bends.

Praying Mantis
Mon, Sep 01 08 @ 02:31 AM Eastern Daylight Time

This little guy showed up one night when DaveB & I was working.  He stayed around for probably a week.  Wayne Hicks had bird in his hangar, I have a walking stick.

Thanks to Mark Ewart for correcting me that this is a Praying Mantis, not a walking stick.

DaveB
Wed, Sep 03 08 @ 12:32 AM Eastern Daylight Time

DaveB is becoming a regular fixture in my shop.  We are continually bribing each other.  You see Dave has a Long Ez (VH-JZE) & I am building an airplane.  I enjoy flying in his airplane and he wants to learn fiberglassing.

Pete & Bruce
Fri, Feb 20 09 @ 03:15 AM Eastern Standard Time

On the bottom layup, both Pete & Bruce helped me for their first time on my airplane.  So they earned the right to sign my cozy.

Kevin Dove
Sun, Apr 12 09 @ 10:14 PM Eastern Daylight Time

I was in Perth in February and had the opportunity to spend a few hours talking Canards with Kevin Dove.  Kevin is probably about a year ahead of me in the build.  It was neat to see what several of the next layups would look like.  Almost all the builders that I've visited over the years have been well progressed in the build so this was certainly a nice change.
